As predicted, when Andy only managed to lead Cadel by a mere 57" at the Alps, de Tour is destined to belongs to Cadel after a strong performance (as expexted) in the individual time trial and consistency in the tour as a whole.

Cadel tribute his wins to his coach since to 2001 when he jumps on to the road bandwagon after a succesful mountain bike career. Eurosport commentator (mr Hammond) even labelled this tour race is one the best finish with the champion wraps up at the very last showdown.

The Schlecks however made history by the only brothers on the podium of les grande. Voeckler on the other hand, took 4th place and what and incredible performance by him to manage to hold  'malliot jaune' for atleast 10 days and survived the mountain stages like a pure climber despite the fact he is naturally a well known breakway specialist.

the king  of sprint finally sealed the green jersey for the 1st time.
